Indoor Pool Climate Control, Dehumidification & Ventilation

Find the Right System for Your Indoor Swimming Pool

Choosing the correct climate control system for an indoor swimming pool is about much more than simply removing moisture from the air.

Pool size, pool water temperature, pool hall volume, glazing, ventilation, bather use, water features, existing ductwork, heating requirements and the equipment already installed can all affect which system is suitable.

The Warmpools Indoor Pool Climate System Selector is designed to help you understand which type of solution may be appropriate before you move on to detailed survey and design.

Depending on your pool and building, the calculator may identify a possible route using a Dantherm CDP dehumidifier, a Calorex Variheat ducted system, a Calorex Delta environmental control system, or a fully bespoke indoor pool climate solution.

NEW INSTALLATIONS AND REPLACEMENT SYSTEMS

The calculator can be used for both new indoor swimming pools and existing systems that need replacing or upgrading.

If you already have a Calorex, Dantherm or other pool dehumidification or air handling system installed, we also ask what equipment is currently in place, why you are considering changing it and whether you would prefer a like-for-like replacement where practical.

A replacement is not always as simple as selecting the modern equivalent of an older unit.

Existing ductwork, airflow, electrical supply, boiler or LPHW connections, condensate drainage, controls, plant room space and access should all be checked before expensive replacement equipment is ordered.

WHY CORRECT INDOOR POOL CLIMATE CONTROL MATTERS

An indoor swimming pool creates a demanding environment.

Without correctly designed dehumidification and ventilation, moisture can lead to condensation on windows and building surfaces, corrosion, mould growth, damage to finishes and an uncomfortable pool hall.

A properly designed system can help control:

• Pool hall humidity

• Condensation

• Air temperature

• Fresh air ventilation

• Pool water heating

• Air circulation

• Energy recovery

• Cooling where required

CALOREX VARIHEAT AND DELTA SYSTEMS

Calorex Variheat systems offer flexible ducted dehumidification, air heating, pool water heating and optional fresh air arrangements.

Calorex Delta systems are designed for more comprehensive indoor pool environmental control, including humidity, air temperature, pool water temperature and ventilation.

These larger systems are significant investments and need to be correctly matched to the pool, building and available services.

Incorrect equipment selection, unsuitable ductwork, inadequate airflow or poorly matched heating and electrical services can lead to poor performance, excessive energy use, noise problems and costly alterations later.

PROFESSIONAL SURVEY AND SYSTEM DESIGN

Where the calculator indicates that a Variheat, Delta or bespoke system may be required, Warmpools recommends a professional site survey and design before equipment is ordered.

Our qualified and experienced engineers have undertaken relevant manufacturer training and can assess the complete installation, including existing equipment, ductwork, airflow, heating, electrical requirements, drainage, controls, access and plant room layout.

Warmpools can then provide the complete service from survey and system design through to supply, installation and commissioning.

Our Indoor Pool Climate System Survey & Design Service costs £500 + VAT (£600 inc VAT).

If you proceed with the recommended installation through Warmpools, the full £600 survey and design fee is credited against the installation cost.

START WITH THE FREE CALCULATOR

Use the Warmpools Indoor Pool Climate System Selector to get a provisional indication of the type of indoor pool climate control system that may suit your project.

The result is designed to help you understand the likely route before committing to expensive equipment.

Final equipment selection for Calorex Variheat, Delta and bespoke systems must be confirmed by professional survey and design.

Helpful Next Steps for Your Indoor Pool Project

If your result suggests a smaller domestic dehumidifier may be suitable, use our Indoor Pool Dehumidifier Calculator for a more detailed provisional Dantherm CDP recommendation.

For larger ducted systems such as Calorex Variheat, Delta or other bespoke indoor pool climate-control systems, the next step is a professional site survey and design.
